Born from the rich tapestry of Eastern heritage, Majnoon emerges as a beacon of musical transcendence. Founded by the visionary KhaiKhan (Kayhan Yakarlar), creator of Radio Istanbul (RIST) and Rist Records, Majnoon channels the profound motto: ``music rising from the east.`` Their mission is to weave the timeless essence of their homeland's culture into the fabric of contemporary sound, achieving a universality rooted deeply in locality. Each performance by Majnoon is a spontaneous creation, an improvisational journey crafted in the moment alongside an ensemble of exceptionally talented musicians. Their soulful energies coalesce into melodies that resonate deeply with audiences, drawing from oriental, ethnic, and spiritual tones. The ensemble's diverse instrumentation—including the ney (reed flute), duduk, clarinet, qanun, darbuka, various percussions, balaban, saxophone, kabak kemane, cumbus, and baglama—creates a rich tapestry of sound that transcends borders.

Majnoon's tracks have graced numerous international labels, and their collaborative spirit has led to partnerships with esteemed artists such as Claude Challe, Papa DJ, Estray, Rodrigo Gallardo, Laroz Camel Rider, Anatolian Sessions, Dole & Kom, Sahale, Mercan Dede, Omer Nanda, Veleyle, Jota Karloza, Acid Pauli, Armen Miran, Okay Temiz, Viken Arman, Timboletti, Ali Farahani, Shan Nash, and Billy Esteban. KhaiKhan's role as a music curator and director for premier venues in Istanbul and worldwide further amplifies Majnoon's influence.
